The Ethereum 2.0 testnet will be released around August 4, 2020. The mainnet release date will be in early November 2020
Ethereum 2.0 has been the most anticipated and most discussed topic in the blockchain ecosystem. It was designed to accelerate the use and adoption of Ethereum, improving performance. Ethereum 2.0 offers new opportunities to join and be rewarded for maintaining the network. Developers must overcome some of the technical challenges of Ethereum’s full updates and releases.
Ethereum (ETH) 2.0 has been running successfully on several test networks since April. The final testnet will be available on August 4. Danny Ryan, developer of Ethereum Core, posted this news on Testnet’s Discord. He said:
“After discussions with customer teams, the next testnet (mainnet configuration, including minimum validator numbers) will have a minimum genesis time on August 4 (probably 13 or 14 UTC hours). We will also show the “Launchpad” on this network, the educational deposit interface for amateurs. I hope the deposit agreement and setup will be released in the next few days. “
The final testnet will allow Ethereum to grow and support decentralized financing (DeFi) and countless other use cases. Testnet supports several Ethereum customers, with different ways to run the blockchain.
Ethereum 2.0 appears to be on the way to launch. Investors and the community feel that the update is taking too long, but the testnet should be up and running in at least three months. In summary, the Ethereum 2.0t mainnet can be launched on November 4, 2020.
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, shared his thoughts on the development of Ethereum 2.0. Buterin also sees new scaling solutions, such as rollups, that can provide extra space for Ethereum to continue to grow.
