According to the official version, a private computer belonging to the OTC Transaction Manager was attacked with malware.
“On July 8, 2020, the manager reported a failure of the company’s laptop and asked his supervisors to use private equipment to create alternative online wallets. The platforms on which they were created include Blockchain.com and Huobi. For the sake of our clients’ interests, we made an exception and allowed him to do so.
Said Kumar Gaurav, Cashaa founder and CEO.
According to Casha, the moment an employee’s computer connected to the cryptocurrency exchange system, hackers took control of it and stole it. After this incident, the device was placed in custody, and the company suspended the employee until the matter was resolved.
“Hackers took control of our employee’s computer with active sessions open in the browser. Cybercriminals used a variety of techniques including phishing, viruses, and other attacks. We are still considering all possible methods. “
