McDonald’s a kryptowaluty
You probably remember that in 2018 there were rumors that McDonald’s will launch MacCoin. It turned out that it was not a new cryptocurrency, but free coupons commemorating the anniversary of the Big Mac in the form of electronic tokens.

Now, however, the world of digital currencies can partially trumpet success. It turns out that McDonald’s is opening to cooperation with … the People’s Bank of China. And this – as every our regular reader knows – is currently testing the digital yuan. Four state-owned banks, Ant Financial, Tencent and a group of as many as 19 entities from the retail industry will participate in the tests. Among the latter is McDonald’s, but also Starbucks and Subway.
The digital yuan is finally becoming a fact
Digital yuan has been talked about for a long time, but until April it could be considered a bit of a ghost currency, a mysterious project that may never even see the light of day. About two weeks ago, the first screenshots of the project’s payment application were published by people associated with the Chinese stock exchange Binance and Mattew Graham from Sino Global Capital.
We already know that the functions include payments via QR code, transfers between individuals (payments P2P) or the option to initiate transactions by contacting smartphones (this will enable the system to work even when there is no internet).

Hamburger for BTC
Earlier BTC payments have already been accepted by a competitor of the popular network – Burger King. A global giant from the fast food market has been cooperating with GoCrypto since December 2019 and in exchange for hamburgers adopts Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. However, this applies to purchases at company restaurants in Slovenia.
