Second round of elections: iVoting “elects” the President of Poland Blocksats

Last Sunday the first round of presidential elections took place. A few days before her, the blockchain startup iVoting conducted its own survey on who Poles would vote for. We have written more widely about the initiative here. Today the project started with the second edition of the survey, this time regarding the second round. The latter will take place on July 12. The current president of the country Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski, president of Warsaw and politician of the Civic Coalition will face it.

Second round of presidential elections

As you know, the first round of presidential elections took place last Sunday. However, it was not possible to elect the president, because none of the candidates won more than 50 percent. 43.50 percent voted for President Andrzej Duda voters, while his main rival, Rafał Trzaskowski, obtained 30.46 percent. votes. They will play in the second round.

The podium was closed by an independent Szymon Hołownia with a result of 13.87 percent. votes. The fourth place was taken by Confederate MP Krzysztof Bosak with 6.78 percent support. The leader of the Polish Coalition (PSL and Kukiz’15) Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz won 2.36 percent votes, and the politician of the Left Robert Biedroń only 2.22 percent.

Further places were: Stanisław Żółtek (0.23 percent), Marek Jakubiak (0.17 percent), Paweł Tanajno (0.14 percent), Waldemar Witkowski (0.14 percent) and Mirosław Piotrowski (0 , 11%).

The new iVoting survey is available from today here. To vote for “your” candidate, all you have to do is enter your phone number (it is necessary, because a voice authorization code will come to him), then your email address, and finally put a cross next to the name of the politician. This time we have the choice only for Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski.

The project is developing quite quickly. At the beginning of the year, he received a grant from the National Center for Research and Development in the amount of PLN 6.2 million. As part of the research program, the startup team was to design an internet voting system that would be based on a block chain. The entire project is valued at PLN 8.2 million.
